An Effingham teenager was injured in a crash early Sunday morning.

Effingham County sheriff's deputies and Watson Fire Protection District firefighters were called to the crash at 12:42am along US Route 45 just north of 400th Avenue.

Deputies say 19-year-old Emily White's vehicle ran off the road to the right.  White reportedly overcorrected and her vehicle came back onto and then slid across the highway.  The vehicle went through the left ditch and then struck two trees, coming to rest on its passenger side.

White was injured and was taken to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

White was ticketed for DUI and illegal consumption of liquor by a minor.
