Longtime area boys basketball coach Bob Lockart has been hired to coach the boys varsity team at Neoga this coming season.

Lockart has experience as varsity coach at Sullivan, Mattoon and Effingham as well as in Decatur.  He's a graduate of Shelbyville High School and Millikin University.

Lockart will succeed Clay Haurberg, who is now coaching and teaching at Clinton.

The Neoga board accepted the retirement letter of Carol Smith as of the end of the 2016-2017 school year, and agreed to dissolve the AFS Club and add their account funds to the Alumni.

Neoga board members approved busing requests from Grace United Methodist Church and St. Mary's Church, approved a FFA trip to the national convention in Louisville, Kentucky and a 2015 summer trip to New York City and to Washington, DC, and accepted the budget for the fiscal year.
