A motorcycle rider was injured when his cycle collided with another vehicle on Effingham's south end Monday afternoon.

23-year-old Eric Wolske of Makanda in deep southern Illinois pulled in front of, and was struck by, a vehicle driven by 42-year-old Tracy Shaw of Effingham.  The crash happened at 4:26pm on South Banker Street in front of Dollar General.  Witnesses said the impact threw Wolske from the cycle.

Wolske was injured and was taken to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment.

City police say no citations had been issued as of midday Tuesday.
