Helen Matthes Library launched a Lego™ Library Fundraiser at its monthly board meeting on Monday as part of its fundraising campaign to renovate the former 5/3 Bank Building into Effingham’s new library.

Donors will be able to help build a 1:53 scale Lego™ model of the library. Bricks will cost $1 each and can be purchased at the Library’s Check Out Desk. The scale model of the façade will take over 6,000 bricks.

Amanda McKay, Library Director, explained: “Building a Lego™ Library as part of our capital campaign is a fun way of raising money for our project. Our Lego™ Club has been one of our most popular programs at the Library for children and in particular boys. It reflects our library values of combining learning and play while encouraging creativity in all our users.”
