Results of an autopsy performed Monday on an Effingham man are yet to yield a cause of death.

An autopsy was conducted on James Pontious, who was found dead Sunday morning in downtown Effingham.  The Effingham County Coroner's Office said preliminary autopsy results were inconclusive.  Results of toxicology testing, though, are still pending.

City police and the coroner's office are continuing their investigation.  Authorities have said throughout their investigation that foul play is not suspected.
