An Effingham church has been burglarized.

Effingham City Police report a burglary occurred at Cornerstone Christian Church at 3600 South Banker next to Effingham County Memorial Airport.  The break-in occurred sometime between 7pm Friday and 7:30am Saturday.

Police say entry was gained by breaking a window.  An interior door valued at $500 also sustained damage, as did a key storage locker.

An undetermined amount of cash was stolen.

Police are also investigating an attempted residential burglary.

The attempted break-in occurred in the 600 block of Edgar between noon and 2:12pm Friday.  A window was broken, but entry did not appear to have been made.
