Teutopolis village board members have passed an ordinance authorizing the issuance of up to $1.75 million in waterworks revenue bonds.  The revenue generated will pay for construction of a water transmission line from Newton to Teutopolis as an alternative water source for the village.

The water line project is estimated to cost $1.6 million.

The Board also passed the tax levy for the fiscal year.  The levy seeks $281,845 in revenue.

Board members approved a subdivision plat of land owned by Jerry Heuerman and James Heuerman.  The Heuermans plan to subdivide property outside the village limits north and east of Teutopolis, but within the village's 1-1/2 mile extra-territorial zoning jurisdiction.

The village board also purchased a backhoe from Burkey's in Mattoon for $60,000.
