Four people were injured in a crash in rural Richland County Monday night.

State police say the crash was reported at 8:33pm in an area four miles southeast of Olney.  A vehicle driven by 19-year-old Christian Baca of Olney ran off the road to avoid striking a deer that ran onto the roadway.  Baca's vehicle struck the ditch and then traveled a distance before striking a tree.

Baca was injured as were his three passengers; 26-year-old Shannon Gorley of Louisville, 23-year-old Brandon Hall of Noble and 19-year-old Jessica Wetherford of Olney.

Baca was taken to Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney for treatment.  The other three were taken to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

State police cited Baca for DUI drugs and two traffic counts.
