City Police Investigating Burglary, Theft

Effingham city police are investigating a residential burglary that occurred in the 800 block of North Walnut.

The burglary occurred sometime between 4pm Tuesday and 8pm Wednesday.  Items taken include a truck battery, an air mattress, a DVD player flashlight, a microwave and aluminum cans.  The items have a total value of almost $500.

Police are also investigating a theft that occurred at 2500 North Third Street.  Someone took an undetermined amount of money from a wallet owned by Andre Powell of Toledo.  The theft took place sometime between 2:35am and 4:35am today.
