Area resident Billy Speagle has been sentenced to six years in prison after pleading guilty to a count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a disabled person.

Counts of abuse of a person 13 to 16 years old, abuse of a person who can't give consent, and battery were dismissed in exchange for the guilty plea.

The 42-year-old Beecher City man had been indicted on the counts in April.  Speagle agreed to the negotiated plea on Tuesday.

Speagle also faces counts in Fayette County of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of someone under age 13 and aggravated possession of child pornography.
