The Dieterich Board of Education Tuesday reversed an earlier decision and voted to reinstate extra-curricular transportation.

Prior to the Board's action, those participating in extra-curricular activities this school year have had to provide their own transportation.

A group of more than 50 parents, students and community members voiced concerns and opinions regarding the Board's decision to eliminate the service.  After more consideration by the Board, a motion to reinstate extra-curricular transportation was unanimously approved.

Also Tuesday, the Dieterich board heard from Scott Moeller of Courts and Cracks regarding a bid to repair the Village tennis courts.  Moeller said the courts have deteriorated to the point that there are numerous cracks that have become a major concern.

The proposal to repair the cracks totals $7,628.50.  The Village of Dieterich had approached the school board about sharing the cost of repairs.  The school board voted to pay up to $2,500 toward the cost of repairs.

Dieterich board members met in closed session concerning personnel and contract negotiations, but there was no action in open session.
