Full Day in Store at Effingham County Fair

A full day of activities awaits today and tonight at the Effingham County Fair.

Harness racing begins at 1pm.  Hear the five heats of action on KJ Country 102.3

The midway will be open for $17 armband night for rides from 6 to 10:30pm.

The feature evening attraction will be the Miss Effingham County Fair Queen Pageant and Little Miss Pageant at 7pm.  Two dozen Little Misses will join 15 queen candidates in tonight's event.  Retiring queen Gina Thoele will be crowning the new queen.  This is also the 50th anniversary of the State Fair Queen Pageant and all of the past county fair queens have been invited to participate in tonight's event.

A reminder that the Little Miss Pigtail competition sponsored by the Effingham County Pork Producers will take place at 6:15pm in front of the grandstand.

Admission tonight is $8.00 for grandstand seats.

The judging schedule today will feature the Class H market barrow and breeding stock at 8am and the Class H dairy goats at 11am.

A reminder that you can hear the judging results each day at 8:45am with Rachelle Hollinshead of Extension on KJ Country 102.3. 

On the free stage tonight...Jamie Nattier and Rich Matlock with country music from 7 to 9:30pm.

The fair continues through Saturday at Altamont.
