St. Elmo school board members Monday heard that registration for the new school year will take place next week.

Superintendent Deb Philpot reported that school registration for St. Elmo students will be Thursday and Friday, August 1 and 2 from 10am to 6pm each day.

Philpot also reported about literacy workshops scheduled for staff members in August.  She said the workshops would be a "great opportunity" for staff and should reflect positive results in the district's reading and language arts program.

High School Principal Brian Garrard reported on the junior/senior high school athletic handbook for the new co-op sports programs involving St. Elmo and Brownstown students.

Technology improvements were approved for about $27,000 with F.E. Moran and Global Technical Systems; Marcia Heckert was appointed district treasurer; LaTosha Schroeder was re-employed as full time paraprofessional for the Pre-Kindergarten Program; and Krista Stine was hired as a one-fifths time teacher and four-fifths time paraprofessional.

The Board also voted to sell a District-owned pickup truck.
