Effingham County FISH Human Services has received funds from the 2013 Annual Effingham County Sheriff's Posse Ride.

Despite rainy weather, most of the activities related to the ride took place, except for the ride.  The rain had stopped by time to ride, but water pooling in the roads and the majority of riders traveling on motorcycles led to the ride to be cancelled for safety's sake.

Instead, everyone gathered at the Effingham County Fairgrounds for a meal and the awarding of prizes.

Doug McCain won the grand prize of $50 cash, a free night's stay at the new Hampton Inn and a show at the Effingham Performance Center.

There were 44 participants in this year's event.  $2,800 was donated to FISH.

Next year's ride is set for June 7, 2014.
