The Effingham Water Authority board has been researching the best way to address the septic system for the Pinnacle Center at Lake Sara being located on a different tract of land.

Due to the lot being odd-shaped, sloped and considering non-buildable, Chairman Chris Kabbes proposed the purchaser have the land surveyed to determine the portion he would need for the septic system and that a value be determined for the parcel.  All expense of the survey and acquiring the portion of land would be at the purchaser's expense.

Trustees also heard the bid from John Lewis Construction for repairs to the Lake Superintendent's basement appears to include all aspects of the repairs needed.  Lake Superintendent Michael Dirks was directed to contact the other bidders to make sure their bids include the same repairs.

Trustees also accepted the low bid of Northside Ford for a three-quarter-ton truck; accepted a bid from Triple A Asbestos Services for work at the Superintendent's home; and found out that since the Erosion Committee's work at Lake Sara is almost finished, several members have agreed to work on a Parks and Recreation Advisory committee for the Park District.

In a special meeting the next day, Water Authority officials reorganized for the new year.  Officers were re-elected including Chairman Chris Kabbes, Vice-Chairman and Treasurer Jim Boos and Secretary Rob Brown.  The trustees also granted 3% pay raises for Lake Superintendent Mike Dirks, Office Manager Betty Logan, Attorneys Siemer, Austin and Fuhr.
