Dieterich School Superintendent Cary Jackson told the school board Monday that the district would be growing.

Jackson reported on a hearing before the Regional Board of School Trustees.  The trustees voted to allow Scott and Geri Wohltman to petition out of the Jasper School District and annex into the Dieterich district.

Elementary Principal Kathy Pattenaude and Junior-Senior High Principal Kevin Haarman presented information on the district's preliminary ISAT scores.  The results reflect a change in cut scores from the State Board of Education.  The change in cut scores will result in fewer students in the Meet/Exceed categories on the standardized exam.  The principals were quick to point out that the change does not mean the students are scoring lower on the exams, but that they will now have to answer more questions correctly to be placed in the Meet or Exceed categories.

The Dieterich Board approved an unpaid leave request for Jodi Mammoser in September; accepted the resignation of Matthew Worman as high school boys baseball assistant coach; and hired Tracy Koester as a one on one aide for the coming school year.

Superintendent Jackson reported on the President's delay in implementing the Affordable Care Act until 2015, and also reported that Dieterich school registration is scheduled for August 7 from 10am to 6pm.
