Midland States Bank Ready to Begin Downtown Renovations

Midland States Bank has completed work on their corporate headquarters along Althoff Drive on Effingham's northeast side; now, it's time to start work on the renovation of their downtown Effingham location.

The Effingham City Plan Commission Tuesday will review a site plan for the reconstruction of the area south of the downtown facility.  The plans include the removal of the existing drive-thru facility and replacement with a large parking area and a new building on the southeast corner of the tract at 4th Street and Section Avenue.  The new building will be pretty much located on the site of the former Post Office, Kindergarten Center and Elks Lodge building.  Other than the new building, which measures close to 10,000 square feet, the area will be used for parking.
