The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that in the construction zone around Effingham, the first of the changes to northbound I-57/eastbound I-70 will be made as early as the night of Tuesday, June 25.

Weather permitting, the off-ramp at Keller Drive will be put back to a more normal ramp pattern.  At the same time, the on-ramp at Fayette Avenue will be closed.  Traffic wanting to get onto northbound 57, westbound 70 from Fayette Avenue will utilize a marked detour on Outer Belt West, West Evergreen Avenue and the Keller Drive interchange.  While this ramp is closed, the permanent on-ramp will be built.

The off-ramp at Fayette Avenue and the on-ramp at Keller Drive will remain the same for the time being.

For more information, phone Steve Miller of IDOT in Springfield at 788-3958 or Bob Utz in the Effingham IDOT office at 342-3951.
