The Effingham City Plan Commission Tuesday approved site plans for two new developments.

One site plan is for what is to be known as Shoppes at Oak Point Centre, a strip mall to be located along Ford Avenue in front of Kohl's Department Store.

The site plan shows six buildings in the development with a total of 14,261 square feet of space.  The slightly more than one acre development is in highway commercial zoning.

The other site plan is for ADM Alliance Nutrition, to be developed in the City Business Park at 1203 Niccum Avenue.  The project involves an addition to existing buildings included storage towers that will be lighted with a beacon as the structures will be relatively close to the flight patterns of the local airport.

There was discussion of extra-territorial jurisdiction for BBO Development, to be located south of Moccasin Road and north of Grupe Subdivision.  The majority of the proposed development is within the City's 1-1/2 mile extra-territorial jurisdiction.

The Commission also recommended the City Council approve a preliminary and final plat of Waymoth Subdivision, a two-lot residential development along North Country Club Road west of the city.
