Unit 40 Board Addresses Several Personnel Matters

The Effingham Unit 40 Board of Education addressed several personnel matters at a special meeting on Tuesday.

The Board employed Kim Tegeler and Kali Ort as paraprofessionals for the coming school year; hired Taylor Wilks as a LBS1 teacher at Central Grade School for the coming school year; and hired Andrew Lotz to work in maintenance this summer.

Family and Medical Leave Act leaves were approved for Kim Mihlbachler, Amanda Roberts and Sharon Poynter.

Resignations were accepted from Catherine Zumwalt as a paraprofessional as of the end of the school year, from Heather Piper as a LBS1, from Jim Hammer as the high school community service hour coordinator as of the end of the school year, John Taylor as a bus driver as of the end of the school year, from Stephanie Ruholl as a paraprofessional as of the end of the school year, from Emily King as a teacher as of the end of the school year, and from Deonte King as teacher, JV baseball coach, and assistant football coach as of the end of the school year.

The Unit 40 Board also voted to expel four students for the 2023-2024 school year.
