South Central Board Completes Board Make-Up

South Central school board members Monday canvassed the April election votes and declared the winners of board seats as Tyler Neilson, Danny Hiestand and Rob Jones. The Board also thanked Ann Blomberg for 24 years of service on the South Central school board.

The Board renewed membership on the Illinois Association of School Boards, approved Superintendent Kerry Herdes to place an amended budget for the current fiscal year on display for action at the June meeting, purchased a new John Deere tractor fro Riechmann Brothers for district use, and heard a review of the construction timeline on the middle school project.

South Central board members approved a resignation from Carrie Reed as of the end of the school year, approved a letter of retirement from Jane Miller as of the end of the 2026-2027 school year, and approved hiring Bethany Lane as district bookkeeper. Ryan Kappler and Sara Beth Williams were hired as certified staff members. The Board also appointed Kendall Burleyson as middle school volleyball coach, Shane Lother as senior class sponsor and choir sponsor, Danielle Chasteen as freshman class sponsor, Amanda Guerrattaz as junior class sponsor, and Kara Schukar as marching band sponsor.
