A man was found dead in a corn crib near Shobonier late Thursday evening.

The man was identified as 60-year-old Tommy Collier of Odin.  Fayette County Coroner Bruce Bowen said Collier was at a farm grinding corn for his cattle at the time of his death.

Collier's wife was unable to locate him and phoned the Fayette County Sheriff's Department for help.  A Fayette County deputy found Collier in the corn crib.  Bowen pronounced Collier dead at the scene at 12:27am Friday.

The incident remains under investigation.  An autopsy was scheduled for Friday to determine the exact cause of Collier's death.  The findings will be released at a later date.
