Here's Why All of Those Trucks Have Been Traveling Through Your Town

Traffic was diverted off the interstate onto Route 40 and through Montrose, Teutopolis and Effingham for several hours. The diversion was the result of a three-vehicle crash reported about 8:45am Friday.

Illinois State Police report the crash occurred near Montrose involving westbound traffiic. Police report that no injuries resulted from the collision. 

I-70 Westbound at the crash scene was closed to allow IDOT to repair guardrails and concrete barriers in the construction zone. It was expected that all lanes would be open again this afternoon.

Traffic was routed off the interstate at the Greenup interchange and sent west through Montrose, Teutopolis and Effingham, where vehicles could get back onto the interstate.
