Altamont city council members Monday finalized a Tax Increment Financing district agreement with Valerie and Eric Behl. The agreement covers roofing improvements at the building that houses Cuts By Us.

The re-roofing project will cost $22,000. The City will allocate $10,000 in TIF funds toward the project cost.

Council members awarded mowing bids. Precision Lawn Care will mow Union Cemetery, Gilbert Park, Schmitt Park and Klitzing Park. Jon Berg will mow the triangle downtown, the Municipal Building property and the sewer lagoon.

The Council amended the solar avoided cost rate to city residents. The new rate is 0.1007 per kilowatt. They also approved sideyard and rearyard setbacks at 308 South 3rd Street for a garage reconstruction project at the Kay Krohn property.

Speaking of the Altamont Council, the Altamont Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a city council candidate question and answer session. The session will begin at 6pm on Monday, March 20 at the Municipal Building.
