Effingham Noon Rotarians learned about the In His Hands ministry at their meeting March 1.

Michelle McGowan has led In His Hands since its inception. The ministry's goal is to change the lives of orphans worldwide. Care provided includes food, education, medicine and live-saving surgeries. The ministry has focused its work in Haiti, Myanmar, Kenya, the Phiippines and the United States.

A In His Hands benefit is scheduled for Saturday, March 18, at 6:30pm at Christ's Church on Veterans Drive in Effingham. A meal, music and testimonies will all be part of the evening.

Steve Raymond served as Rotary weekly program chairman.

The Noon Rotary weekly student guest was Conlan Walsh, a senior at St. Anthony High School and the son of Tim and Jeanniene Walsh. He plans to major in Neuroscience and is leaning toward attending the University of Iowa. He is involved at St. Anthony in Cross Country, Track, the musical, Spanish Club, Pep Club and History Club.
