An Effingham County grand jury has returned indictments against local resident Charles Yoder in the murder of Ted Debany May 7.

The grand jury indicted Yoder on the same three counts of first degree murder that had been filed after Yoder's arrest the day of the stabbing that resulted in Debany's death.

During a court appearance Thursday, Yoder pleaded not guilty to the counts.  His trial date was set for August 5, with a pre-trial hearing scheduled for June 25.

Yoder remains in Effingham County Jail under five million dollars bail.
