Two Kentucky Residents Injured in Crash North of Effingham

Two Kentucky residents were injured in a crash Friday afternoon in Effingham County.

The crash happened just after 2pm on Interstate 57 Northbound, two miles north of Effingham. Illinois State Police reported a car driven by 62-year-old Marius Jackson of Sturgis, Kentucky was northbound when the vehicle left the roadway. The car ran into the center median and when Jackson overcorrected, the car left the roadway to the right, then overturned into an adjacent field.

Jackson and a passenger, an eight-year-old boy from Sturgis, were injured and were transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Jackson was cited for driving with a suspended license.
