The final unofficial results from Tuesday's primary election for Effingham County have now been released. These results include the Vote By Mail and Early Voting numbers that were not included in last night's results.

The new totals reflect 7,662 votes cast, of which 636 were Democrat and 7,026 Republican. That indicates a 32.63% voter turnout.

In the race for Effingham County Resident Circuit Judge, State's Attorney Bryan Kibler defeated Associate Circuit Judge Jeffrey DeLong, 3,442 to 3,103. Kibler, in his third term as state's attorney, defeated DeLong despite DeLong being endorsed for the job by retired Resident Circuit Judge Kimberly Koester.

There is no Democrat candidate for the post. Associate Judge Martin Siemer has served as interim resident circuit judge.

The other contest in Effingham County was the battle for the Republican nomination for County Board in District H. Sandra Gillet defeated Dale Wallace, 490 to 409, and will seek to succeed the retiring Rob Arnold as District H board member. There is no Democrat candidate.

86% of Republican voters in the county cast their ballot for Darren Bailey for governor.
