Bailey vs. Pritzker for Governor in November

The first time, it was in court; this time, it will be a battle at the ballot box for Darren Bailey and J.B. Pritzker.

Bailey, the Xenia farmer who as a first-term state senator took on Pritzker's COVID mandates, and inspired a series of other lawsuits challenging the mandates, defeated five other candidates for the Republican nomination for governor Tuesday. He ended up with more than half of the Republican votes.

Speaking at the Thelma Keller Convention Center Tuesday night, Bailey pledged to restore Illinois and "stand up for the working people, not the political elite", his consistent message throughout the campaign.

Bailey said, "Friends, we know J.B. Pritzker will spend a lot of money trying to fool you...by telling lies about me, but as an out-of-touch, trust fund, elitist billionaire, wasting money and trying to fool working people is what he does best."

Bailey added, "The voices of working families, parents, taxpayers, law enforcement, and the everyday citizens...voices from the farms, the suburbs, the city of Chicago, and every place in between...tonight, our movement sent a clear message to the establshment and the political elites: we will not be ignored."
