Final numbers are in from Fayette County from Tuesday's vote.

There will be a new sheriff in the county. Ronnie Stevens won the Republican nomination with 1,741 votes to 1,292 votes for incumbent David Russell, who was named to the job in 2021. Fayette County has gone through a number of sheriffs in recent years, mainly due to retirements of the incumbents.

The finalists have been decided for Fayette County Resident Circuit Judge, to see who will succeed Don Sheafor, who is retiring.

The current State's Attorney for Fayette County, Josh Morrison, won the Republican nomination for judge, defeating attorney Troy Payne 1,695 to 1,244. Morrison will take on the Democrat nominee, Marc Kelly, who is currently an associate circuit judge but was unopposed for the Democrat nomination for Resident Circuit Judge.
