No conclusions were reached at a hearing on a jail house motion filed by convicted cop killer Ray Tate Tuesday.

Tate, who confessed to fatally wounding Wayne County Sheriff''s Deputy Sean Riley, has filed a handwritten motion asking to withdraw his guilty plea.

Tate admitted to shooting Deputy Riley at the end of December along I-64, then fleeing to Missouri before returning to Illinois later that day where he was taken into custody after a standoff. Following his guilty plea, Tate was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Following today's hearing, the matter was continued to August 9. Tuesday's hearing was held by Zoom with Tate appearing from Menard Correctional Center in Chester where he is serving his sentence.
