Four local businesses have worked together to provide the funding and teamed with Red Warrior Tactical of Marshall to create medical kits for local law enforcement.

The businesses believe the kits will allow officers to treat themselves, other officers, and/or victims who have any bleeding injuries, gunshot wounds, stab wounds and the like.

Lakeside EMS Chief Executive Officer Jerrod Estes said, "In today's world, at some point, these kits will absolutely save a life."

Businesses contributed almost $10,000 to issue every road officer in the city, county, surrounding police agencies and corrections. The kits are being distributed throughout the day today with training to be completed by an Air Force trauma specialist. The distributions and training were scheduled for 9am, noon, 3pm and 6pm.

Lakeside EMS is a partner in the effort, along with Rural Med EMS, Full Circle Realty and Fujiyama.
