The Effingham Unit 40 Board of Education took action on a number of personnel items at a special meeting Wednesday.

The Board hired Norene Ault, Michael Lambton, Ryan Ervin and Dylan Ritz to work in Effingham High School Summer School. Deb Blankenship was hired as a K-5 summer bridge secretary, and Christopher Prince was hired as a secretary at Effingham High School. Katie Breer and Barb Probst were approved for Effingham Junior High School Summer School, Ashley Klein was hired as a secretary at South Side School, Ellen Warner was hired as a Math teacher at the high school for the coming year, and Garrett Wolfe was hired for summer help working in maintenance.

Leaves of absence were granted Erica Warner, Kara Huston, Cathy Hayes, Kelsey Hutmacher and Kim Knierim.

The Board accepted resignations from Erik Williamson as girls tennis coach at the high school, from Joyce Anderson as school service personnel at the junior high school, and from Sarah Alvord as a teacher.

Two appointments were made: Tyler Semple as high school boys fresh/soph basketball coach and Elizabeth Wilkinson as junior high cheer coach.

Board members also acted on one non-personnel matter. The Board suspended a student through the end of the 2022-2023 school year.
