(ELLERBE)

A continuance has been granted in the trial of the man accused of robbing First Mid Bank and Trust in April.

45-year-old Corey Ellerbe of Indianapolis is accused of entering the bank lobby on Keller Drive just after 10am on April 1 and asking for cash, inferring that he had a weapon. He then fled and traveled into Indiana where he was taken into custody.

Ellerbe is charged with aggravated robbery, not armed robbery since no weapon was displayed.

Ellerbe is now set to be tried on June 27, with a final pre-trial hearing scheduled for June 16. Ellerbe remains in custody in Effingham County Jail under $250,000 bond.
