Dieterich school board members Monday met with Andrew Ewing of The Upchurch Group to review additional options for classroom expansion and other additions to the Dieterich building.

The Board agreed to continue narrowing down options to reach a final plan. The Board hopes to let the classroom expansion project for bids in the Fall.

Dieterich Superintendent Cary Jackson presented the Board with a tentative amended budget for the current fiscal year. Jackson said there are several factors that require a budget amendment, including the sale of bonds, grant expenditures and ESSR funding.

Junior-Senior High School Principal Scott Kocher presented the Master Schedule for the coming school year. New this year is the addition of STEM classes in the Junior High.

The Board approved a cafeteria equipment budget of $50,590.05 for HVAC, chairs and tables, and a new dishwasher.

Dieterich board members approved a new four-year contract agreement with district teachers. In personnel matters, the Board accepted a letter of retirement from 3rd grade teacher Jodi Mammoser as of the end of the school year; accepted a letter of resignation from Leia Meredith as high school Scholar Bowl coach; approved the 2022-2023 coaches and sponsors list; hired Tami Hetzer as a summer worker; hired Nicole Flood as a permanent substitute teacher for the coming school year; hired Monica Heuerman as an elementary teacher for the coming school year; and approved a leave of absence for aide Katie Hagen from August 15 to December 2 to allow her to complete her student teaching.

The Dieterich board heard from Superintendent Jackson that the District will receive $54,008.54 due to an Illinois State Board of Education coding error on the Evidence Based Funding Model; and learned that kitchen staff worker Mary Lucy was named the OPAA! Food Service regional employee of the year.
