The Effingham County Board met in closed session for more than an hour Tuesday afternoon.

Board Chairman Jim Niemann said, "A couple of labor issues are pending."  Niemann said it's his decision as to how to proceed on the issues, but said he wanted Board input before moving ahead.  The Board also spoke with their labor attorney by conference call and with State's Attorney Bryan Kibler during the session.

Niemann termed at least one of the items a "dispute", but said no grievance has been filed.  He said the matter will become public at some point, but isn't sure to what degree.
