Brownstown School Board Considers Calendars for Next Year

Brownstown school board members reviewed options for next school year's calendar at Monday's meeting. No decisions were reached.

The Board approved an intergovernmental agreement with OKAW Vocational System; accepted a proposal from QNS for a high school wireless infrastructure upgrade; approved a proposal from Woods Basement Systems to install trench drains at the high school; awarded a bid to Merz Air Conditioning and Heating for a high school HVAC project; agreed to participate with the St.Elmo School District on a clay target shooting team; and approved purchase of a maintenance truck.

Brownstown board members approved a letter of resignation from Shannon Zerrusen; employed Ray Lake was a full-time temporary custodian for the balance of the school year; and employed Stacey Sidwell as a library aide for next school year.

The Board also authorized Superintendent Mike Shackelford to prepare letters to the two employee unions informing them of the possibility of reductions in force for next school year.
