Niemerg Guest Speaker at Dieterich Schools

State Representative Adam Niemerg spoke to two government classes Friday at Dieterich Junior/Senior High School.

Niemerg was invited as one of several local elected officials to talk about their public service and how the legislative process works. He talked about his first year in the legislature, how legislation is drafted and works its way through the General Assembly, and then to the governor's desk for signature or veto.

Niemerg said that when House rules return to normal that the students should consider serving as a "Page-for-a-Day" where they can shadow the Representative around the Capitol to committee hearings and assist on the House floor for a day.
