Jasper County board members have voted to revise their election precinct plan.

The revision reduced the number of precincts in Wade Township from five to four. It also keeps all the current board members in their respective districts.

The Board also discussed charging an animal control call-out fee, and a $200 fee was discussed. The fee for calls inside the city of Newton, though, would be charged to the city, not the animal owner. The County has contacted the City for consideration of the fee.

There was discussion about the Newton Power Plant. Some members have been updated on the Illinois Coal to Solar and Energy Storage Initiative and how that relates to the Newton plant.

The Board also expressed appreciation to County Engineer Ben Bland who is retiring.
