Altamont Native to Speak About His Book Saturday at Library

The Suzette Brumleve Memorial Effingham Public Library will host author Neil Burkey from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, January 15 in the Fearday Café.
 
Raised in Altamont, Neil now lives and writes in Ireland. He has had several short stories published in the Dublin Review and Guts magazine, and received a Literature Bursary Award from the Arts Council of Ireland in 2015. His essays have appeared in the Irish Times and UK Independent.
 
As an editor, Neil has worked on titles for the European Court of Justice, the Bush Theatre in London and the Merton College in Oxford.
 
Writer’s Retreats – which focuses on literary cabins, creative hideaways and favored writing spaces of iconic authors- is Neil’s first book.
 
Neil Burkey will sign copies of his book and copies of the book will be for sale at $25 each.
