County Chamber Announces 2022 Excellence in Business Recipients

The Effingham County Chamber of Commerce has announced the recipients of the 2022 Excellence in Business Award.

This year's recipients are StangARTs and Washington Savings Bank.

Owned by Jamie Stang Ellis, StangARTs recently celebrated its 11th anniversary. The business helps everyone from kids to adults enjoy the arts. Through the StangARTs After School Program, more than $150,000 has been given to local schools. 

Washington Savings Bank began as The Washington Loan and Building Association in 1883. Washington Savings Bank is the oldest customer owned bank in its two primary markets of Effingham and Coles County. The bank has five locations in Effingham, Mattoon and Lerna. They also provide local school students and community programs with access to free online financial literacy programs and written materials that are relevant to all age groups.

StangARTs and Washington Savings Bank will be honored at the 2022 Chamber Annual Gala on Saturday, January 29. Reservations for the Gala are required and are being accepted until Monday, January 24.
