The Effingham County Health Department reported 167 cases of COVID-19 in the county on Tuesday. That is being described by the Health Department as a record number.

The Health Department on its Facebook page shared the following: "If you receive a text message from the State, please review it and follow their guidelines. If you respond to the text, and call 312-777-1999, EVEN IF NO ONE ANSWERS, or you leave a message, we have been told that you have opted-in and you will be called back eventually, unfortunately due to case numbers we have not been given a timeline for this.

The weblink in the text message gives lots of great information on calculating isolation and quarantine periods.

From TOMORROW (Thursday, January 13 2022), the Illinois Department of Public Health will be responsible for ALL cases. They have told us that there will a process in place to help people access release letters. Once we know more about that, we will share the information with you."
