Effingham County Ambulance Oversight Committee members Tuesday heard a good report from 911 System Administrator Tina Daniels.

Daniels commended the local ambulance services for working together well on a recent day when a series of emergency calls came almost simultaneously, leading to an "all hands on deck" situation. She said they worked together well in a "high pressure situation".

Abbott EMS officials reported on a call where their dispatch sent them to a wrong address. That led Abbott to make changes so that, when they are sent on a call, ambulance attendants will read the address back and the address wlll be read back to dispatch to confirm the attendants have the correct location.

There was also discussion about the makeup of the Ambulance Oversight Committee, which has recently lost some members, including Mike Schabbing, Mike DePoister, retired fire chief Bob Tutko and, most recently, David Budde. The committee membership had been at nine prior to the departures. Committee Chairman Rob Arnold asked for ideas from members on what the membership number should be.
