We continue to hear numbers from area counties on COVID-19 cases.

Jasper County Health Department reported 333 new cases in Jasper and Richland counties combined since last Monday. They report that they are at a point where their contact tracers cannot keep up.

The Department tells Jasper County residents that if they receive a text message from the State to review it and follow their guidelines. If you respond to the text, they should be able to see that you need additional information and will get in contact with you. If you don't get a call from the Health Department, and you need a letter or more information, phone the Jasper County Health Department office and they will have someone get in touch with you.

Jasper Health officials say they are doing their best to keep up.
