The area association governing high school basketball officials has recognized the Neoga Junior-Senior High School for how they treat those officials.
Tom Strohl and Dana Anderson of the South Central Basketball Officials Association were present at the most recent Neoga School Board meeting to present a plaque to the Neoga school. The plaque was presented for the "professionalism, sportsmanship and hospitality" shown to the officials.
In regular business, the Neoga board increased the band credit to one-half per semester. The Board also employed Martin Gibson, Amy Kepp and Allison Glenney as summer school instructors; and acknowledged the resignation notices of Randi Sucie as junior high cheerleading sponsor and Jay Koester as musical technical director. The Board also approved teaching assignments as presented and tabled the extra-duty assignments.
Superintendent Charles Castle reported to the Board on his meeting with Stewardson-Strasburg Superintendent Steve Harsy regarding where the districts might pool resources or work together to make more services available to students of both districts. There was also discussion of making a transition from textbooks to IPAD tablets for junior high Math.
