Effingham resident Trevor Donsbach has been placed on two years' probation after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor charge of criminal damage to property.

The 19-year-old Donsbach was arrested in May in connection with more than 100 reports of criminal damage to mailboxes and reports of vehicles and residences being "egged" through the county. The offenses occurred in a two-week period of early May.

A felony count of the same offense was dismissed as part of the guilty plea.

Donsbach must make restitution of the value of the damage done, must perform 100 hours of public or community service work, and was fined.

The case of a co-defendant is scheduled to be in court in November.
