Another defendant in the Richland County shooting death of Kyle Johnson of Olney has pleaded guilty.

19-year-old Rick Meador of Olney, formerly of Effingham, earlier pleaded guilty to murder in Johnson's death. Meador is to be sentenced on January 27.

Meador was charged with charged with shooting Johnson, while Boatman and two others are charged with being accomplices in the shooting, which occurred on a city street in Olney in September of 2020. Meador and a 16-year-old girl were later found in Florida and brought back for trial.
