The three defendants in the murder of Roger Courson of rural Edgewood were in court Monday.

(CHARLTON)

39-year-old Jamie Charlton of Salem, 30-year-old Walter West of Edgewood and 27-year-old Christopher Gallatin of Centralia are each charged in the death of the 80-year-old Courson, whose body was found by a family member in his home the morning of Sunday, September 26. The charges against each of the defendants allege that they committed the murder and residential burglary of the home, or they acted as accomplices.

(WEST)

Judge Stanley Brandmeyer found probable cause to hold the three over for trial. West is due in court for a motion hearing on November 8, Gallatin is due for a pre-trial hearing on November 15, and Charlton is due in court for a pre-trial hearing on November 24. Judge Brandmeyer also granted motions that the defendants provide DNA samples.

(GALLATIN)

Each of the three is being held in Clay County Jail in Louisville on $2.5 million bond. No trial dates have been scheduled.
