Hidalgo Man Pleads Guilty to Effingham County Meth Charge

Hidalgo resident Jeremy Snell pleaded guilty Monday in Effingham County Circuit Court to a count of possession of methamphetamine.

The 45-year-old Snell initially faced a Class X felony count, but that charge was dismissed. Snell instead pleaded guilty to a Class 1 Felony count, typically involving a sentence of from four to 15 years.

Snell is to be sentenced on December 9.

Snell was originally arraigned on the charges in January of 2020.
