Brownstown School Board Acts on Series of Matters

Brownstown school board members took action on several items at this month's meeting.

The Board accepted the audit report for the past fiscal year; set Class of 2022 graduation day for Saturday, May 14, 2022; and authorized Superintendent Mike Shackelford to start work on the tax levy for the coming fiscal year.

The Board approved a Memorandum of Understanding with the Brownstown Education Association and the Brownstown Education Support Personnel Association; approved Chad Towler, Holly Koester and Kyrstyn Fitch as volunteer assistant coaches for high school girls basketball; purchased a tractor with attachments; and hired Barker Trucking and Excavating to do dirt and rock work on the Brownstown campus.

Board members employed Elizabeth Votrain as a part-time cook for the school year, and employed Amy Pruett as high school girls basketball assistant coach.
